Mega Man 6, known in Japan as Rockman 6: Shijō Saidai no Tatakai!! (ロックマン6 史上最大の戦い!!, Rokkuman 6 Shijō Saidai no Tatakai!!, "Rockman 6: The Greatest Battle in History!!") is the sixth Main series game in the Classic era of the Mega Man series, developed by Capcom and first released for the Famicom (Nintendo Entertainment System) in 1993.
The game is the first Mega Man title to use Robot Master design submissions from American fans, and the last Mega Man game developed for the NES. As it was released near the end of its system's life cycle, Capcom decided not to publish the game in North America, where it was instead published by Nintendo of America in 1994. In Europe, the game was not released at all until its eventual Virtual Console release in 2013, originally causing a skip in numbering from Mega Man 5 to Mega Man 7 in that region.
