Bomb Man (or Bombman) is a Robot Master first appearing in the original Mega Man, where he is one of the robots built by Dr. Light and stolen by Dr. Wily. He was designed for demolition work alongside Guts Man, but was reprogrammed by Wily to cause wanton destruction instead.
Bomb Man is a large robot with a round, black body, red and yellow limbs, and a yellow head with red mohawk. His weapon is the Hyper Bomb, allowing him to produce and throw large bombs that explode after a delay.
Physical Appearance
Personality
In the Games
Mega Man

In the original Mega Man, Bomb Man is one of the main six Robot Masters, appearing last (in reading order) on the stage select screen. His stage is set in a kind of elevated city, with large spheres on top of towers, and explosive enemies roaming around.
Bomb Man's boss room is entered by falling into it from above. His only attack is to throw his Hyper Bombs - up to three in a row - at Mega Man and jump around, usually trying to get to the other side of the room. The bombs cause a harmful explosion when they hit the ground, which can be dodged with a well-timed jump.
Bomb Man is weak to Fire Storm, which deals 4 damage to him, and he also takes 2 damage from the Rolling Cutter,
Thunder Beam and standard Mega Buster. Defeating him grants Mega Man the Hyper Bomb, though the bombs have a significant delay before exploding, limiting their usefulness.
Mega Man: The Wily Wars

Like other bosses from his game, Bomb Man appears in the Mega Man 1 remake of Mega Man: The Wily Wars, with no major changes apart from updated graphics and receiving his own stage portrait.

Bomb Man is one of the available players in Mega Man Soccer, with very average stats. His special is to turn the ball into a Hyper Bomb, which knocks enemies into the air.
Mega Man Powered Up
As a remake of the first game, Bomb Man appears as a boss, but he becomes a playable character if he is defeated by Mega Man using only the Mega Buster. As a playable character, Bomb Man can throw his Hyper Bomb in several angles. He can also have up to two bombs on-screen at a time instead of one with Mega Man.
Mega Man Soccer
Bomb Man is a balanced player that doesn't have his own team. In Tournament mode, he is a member of the Fire Man, Elec Man, Pharaoh Man, Dust Man, Skull Man and Wily teams. In League mode, he is a member of the Fire Man and Skull Man teams.
Super Adventure Rockman
If RockMan is defeated by Magnet Man, Bomb Man will appear to save him, giving the player the chance to fight against Magnet Man again.
Chokkan! Rockman
In the mini-game Bomb Wars, Mega Man must defeat Bomb Man before time runs out. Bomb Man is in a high position out of reach and keeps dropping bombs. Mega Man must throw the bombs back to Bomb Man to damage him.
Rockman Strategy
Bomb Man appears in Rockman Strategy as a boss and optional teammate. He first appears in Aries' Steelmaking Factory along with Flame Man, and reappears in Dimensional Space when the player is facing the Wily Capsule. Here, he joins Sword Man, Skull Man, and Aqua Man in defending Dr. Wily. Template:JapanonlyEND
Battle Network era
Bomb Man has a NetNavi equivalent in BombMan.EXE, with a taller and more muscular look. He appears as a boss in the original Mega Man Battle Network, working for the World Three without an operator.

Other Media
1994 animated series
In the Mega Man (animated series), Bomb Man's design has been changed to give him an orange, beak-like mouth. He appears in the first episode, The Beginning, and three other episodes.
Template:Quote Bomb Man appears in four episodes from Ruby-Spears' Mega Man animated series. In the first episode, The Beginning, he and the other five robots from the first game attack an airport with Wily. Bomb Man's weapon was the first one taken by Mega Man in the show. He also appears in episodes Terror of the Seven Seas, Mega Dreams and Crime of The Century. He looks accurate to his game counterpart except his hands and feet are orange and he has an orange beak.
Captain N: The Game Master
Bomb Man appears in the episode "Mega Trouble in Megaland" along with the other original five Robot Masters, working as a subordinate to Cuts Man. Other than the predominantly green color change and a more rectangular body (as opposed to the more spherical design of the original), this depiction of Bomb Man is very similar to the game version.
Mega Man
Mega Man Megamix
Bomb Man was created for land development purposes just like Guts Man, being a demolition robot equipped with explosives called Hyper Bombs. Bomb Man is not a complex robot by any means, and enjoys big, flashy things like fireworks. Besides, since Bomb Man and Guts Man were designed for working in and around construction sites, they possess enhanced abilities when it comes to search and rescue operations, and can perform simple medical diagnoses. They are not, however, capable of performing actual medical procedures.[4]
Bomb Man, alongside other five robots created by Dr. Light, were controlled by Dr. Wily to help him conquer the world, but Bomb Man is defeated by Mega Man inside Wily's base and restored to his original self. Due to their actions while controlled by Wily, the government considered them a threat and decided to destroy the six Light Numbers, but after they assisted in the battle against the Wily Numbers, the order to destroy them was revoked.
In Mega Man Gigamix, Bomb Man assisted in the battle against the white robot and the Stardroids.
Other appearances
Bomb Man also appears in the manga Rockman and Rockman 4Koma Dai Koushin.

Mega Man 3 info card
In Mega Man 3, all humanoid robots known to have been created by Dr. Light at the time are shown on info cards in the game's ending, including the Robot Masters from the first game. They are listed with their original tasks despite Mega Man's card acknowledging that he is no longer an assistant robot, suggesting that they may have been restored to their intended function after Dr. Wily's initial defeat.
Mega Man & Bass CD
Bomb Man's CD in Mega Man & Bass is located in Tengu Man Stage. It is hidden inside one of the small, floating platforms and can be dug up by Mega Man using Rush Search.
