Peat[1] is an enemy appearing in Mega Man 6. It is a teal and white bird robot with an angry expression, resembling an evil version of Beat, Mega Man's robotic bird helper.
In the Games
Mega Man 6
In Mega Man 6, Peats appear only in one stage, Mr. X stage 4, being encountered in the middle of the stage and again immediately preceding the battle with Mr. X. They start out in egg form, emerging from pipes placed in bottomless pits and slowly floating upwards. Once the egg is at a point slightly above Mega Man's position or is attacked, it "hatches" and a Peat pops out, who darts directly at Mega Man at a high speed after a short delay. Though it deals average contact damage, its placement often enables it to knock Mega Man into a pit.
Peat eggs continue to spawn from the pipes indefinitely, and will even emerge while Mega Man is standing on a pipe, making them difficult to get past. Curiously, damage done to the egg counts towards destroying the Peat inside, giving Mega Man an advantage if he shoots the egg rather than waiting for it to hatch.
Official Data
Peat appears under "Mega Man 6" in the Database in Mega Man Legacy Collection.

Trivia
- Peat can be considered an antagonistic counterpart to Beat in a similar way that Treble is to Rush and Bass to Mega Man himself, though Peat has never appeared as an individual character. Another enemy, Anti-Eddie, would later appear in Mega Man 11 as an evil counterpart to Eddie.
