Pandeeta[1] is an enemy appearing in Mega Man 6. It is a robot modelled after a giant panda, with a hatch in its stomach and inert rocket boosters attached to its back.

In the Games

Mega Man 6

in-game sprite.

In Mega Man 6, Pandeeta is only found in the Mechanical Tower (Wind Man) stage, where it is the first enemy type encountered and also the most common, reappearing all throughout the stage. Though it cannot move apart from turning around, it can attack Mega Man in two ways, either by launching black projectiles from its mouth that fly at him in an arc, or spitting white projectiles forward in a straight line.

Which attack it uses depends on Mega Man's distance, with black shots flying out if he is far away and white shots only being used at a very close range. If Mega Man's vertical distance from the enemy is too great, it does not attack or even turn to face him at all.

Official Data

Pandeeta appears under "Mega Man 6" in the Database in Mega Man Legacy Collection.

Pandeeta
Modified from a panda robot used at a circus. The boosters on its back are meant to allow it to fly, but no one's ever seen that happen.

Related Enemies

Another similarly designed animal robot appears in Mega Man 6, in the Impregnable Fortress stage.

  • Shigaraky (Mega Man 6) - A tanuki robot that releases bouncing balls from the hatch in its stomach.

Trivia

  • Pandeeta's ability to fire either black or white projectiles likely references the giant panda's distinct black & white colouration.
