Dive Man (or Diveman) is a Robot Master first appearing in Mega Man 4 and is one of the eight Robot Masters originally built by Dr. Cossack.
Dive Man is a water-themed robot inspired by a submarine, with a barrel-shaped design and small periscope on top of his helmet. His signature weapon lets him release homing torpedoes called Dive Missiles from his chest, but he is also able to take advantage of the water to propel his entire body forward, ramming opponents head-first.
In the Games
Mega Man 4
In Mega Man 4, Dive Man is one of the main eight Robot Master bosses and appears as the second choice (in reading order) on the stage select screen. His stage is largely submerged, and so is the room where he is fought.
In battle, Dive Man has two attacks, either barrelling towards Mega Man (often three times in a row) in an attempt to ram into him, or standing still and releasing up to three homing Dive Missiles, but never more than two on the screen at once. These torpedo-like missiles follow Mega Man around until destroyed by his weapons or eventually trailing off the screen. The room being underwater also makes dodging difficult due to Mega Man's floaty water physics.
Dive Man's primary weakness is the Skull Barrier from Skull Man, which deals 4 damage to him, but is hard to hit with due to its low range and the shield being used up by his missiles; his secondary weakness, Dust Man's Dust Crusher, deals 3 damage. Defeating him grants Mega Man the Dive Missile, and the Wire Adapter also can be found hidden inside his stage.
Battle Network era
Dive Man has a Net Navi equivalent in DiveMan.EXE, who further exaggerates his submarine shape and adds a pipe typical of an old sea captain. He appears as a villain in Mega Man Battle Network 6 and his operator is Captain Blackbeard.

A miniature submarine robot. He mistakenly tends to fire himself towards you like a missile, so maybe ordinary rapid-fire would be better than using the weapon that plays on his weakness? | |||
