This article is a stub. You can help Mega Man Wiki by expanding it.
Mega Man is a comic series produced by Archie Comics, based on the franchise of the same name. The series was announced at New York Comic Con 2010, and began publication in April 2011 with Ian Flynn as the lead writer. It includes adaptations of video games in the Classic series and some of the X series as well. In 2013, a crossover took place between the Mega Man and Sonic the Hedgehog franchises under the title Worlds Collide, and another crossover event called Worlds Unite ran in 2015. The series was put into an indefinite hiatus after Issue #55, concluding with the setup for an adaptation of Mega Man 4.
Summary
In the year 20XX, technology and science advances to a level where robots are mass produced on a global scale to help with every day tasks. At the forefront of this revolution to the world is Dr. Thomas Light who creates a series of highly advance robots called the Robot Masters to do tasks that are too difficult or dangerous for humans to manage.
When Dr. Light's former colleague Dr. Wily secretly reprograms the six Robot Masters for his own nefarious purposes, nobody is left to stop a rampage across the city. Having a strong sense of justice, one of Dr. Light's assistant robots Rock volunteers to be modified into a combat robot capable of stopping the Robot Masters and taking down Dr. Wily. With the help of his new Mega Buster, Mega Man is able to defeat the robotic threats and save the city.

Publication History and Reception
Archie Comic's Mega Man comic was first announced at New York Comic-Con on October 8th, 2010[3] with the announced creative team leading Patrick "Spaz" Spaziante and Ian Flynn famous for their work on Archie's Sonic the Hedgehog series.
It adapted many of the Classic series games as a long continuous story while also telling new stories with a large cast of new supporting characters and plot points such as Quake Woman, Agent Krantz and the anti-robot terrorist group the Emerald Spears lead by Xander Payne. It also expanded on the backstories of characters like Proto Man with his character arc becoming a large focal point of the comic.
Running from May 2011 and ending in December 2015, the comic was held in critical acclaim from both longtime fans of the Mega Man series to new readers quickly finding themselves becoming fans. Readers also found that the stories of the Mega Man comics were incredibly compelling, Comics Alliance called it "The smartest super-hero comic on stands"[4] for writing stories aimed at all-ages that were not afraid to dip into complex emotional themes.
In April 2025, it was announced that Mega Man from Archie Comics would be reprinted by UDON Entertainment under the name Mega Man Adventures in a 12-issue paperback format collection. It will reprint everything outside of the Sonic the Hedgehog crossover issues.[5]
