Air Man (or Airman) is a Robot Master first appearing in Mega Man 2. He is one of the eight Robot Masters built by Dr. Wily to get revenge after his initial defeat in the first Mega Man, making him part of the first batch to be built entirely by Wily.
Air Man is a blue robot (themed after air, as his name suggests) with a large fan on the front of his torso. His signature weapon is the Air Shooter, allowing him to create volleys of miniature tornadoes and fire them at his enemies.
In the Games
Mega Man 2
In Mega Man 2, Air Man is one of the main bosses that can be selected from the start and the second one listed on the stage select screen, in reading order. His stage is in the sky and features thin platforms, and large Goblins.
Air Man's room lacks special features of any kind. In battle, his attack pattern consists of firing three waves of his weapon, the Air Shooter. Some tornado patterns are difficult to avoid taking a hit from, and his tornadoes block projectiles. After firing all three of these waves, he will make two jumps to the other side of the room, and repeat this cycle.
Air Man's main weakness is the Leaf Shield, which deals 8 damage on hit (16 on Normal difficulty), though he also takes 2 (4) damage from the Quick Boomerang, and 6 (12) damage from half-charge and full-charge Atomic Fire. Upon defeat, Mega Man gains the [[Air Shooter], which fires three tornadoes diagonally upward.
Mega Man 3
Although Air Man does not appear in person in Mega Man 3, a Doc Robot using his data acts as the halfway boss of Needle Man's Doc Robot stage. He behaves like the original Air Man, but to due the presence of Mega Man's slide ability, avoiding damage is easier than before.
Like other Doc Robots, he has two notable weaknesses from this game's weapon pool, in this case taking 4 damage from both the Spark Shock and Magnet Missile.
Mega Man II
In Mega Man II on the Game Boy, Air Man is one of the first batch of Robot Masters that can be selected, making him one of four Mega Man 2 bosses to have his own stage in a Game Boy game, his being based closely on his original one from the NES game.
As Wood Man and is also present in the game, Leaf Shield remains as Air Man's weakness.
Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters
Air Man appears as a boss in Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters, voiced by Jin Yamanoi[1] and looking as he does in his original artwork.
