100 Watton[1] is an upside-down lightbulb originally made to illuminate pathways in dark conditions. It is one of two enemies that control the light systems in Bright Man's stages. If it is destroyed, the area will plunge into darkness, and a Dompan must be destroyed to bring the lights back on. This is dangerous because they possess a single HP point, and the player will not be able to see pits.

In the Games

Mega Man 4

100 Watton first appears in Mega Man 4, where it is seen in Bright Man's stage. It flies horizontally, firing a pod that first goes up before heading downwards that explodes into a five-way bullet spread. Direct contact deals 6 damage, contact with the pod deals 4 damage, and the bullets deal 2 damage.

Mega Man IV

100 Watton reappears in Mega Man IV, where it is again found in Bright Man's stage. It retains the same attack pattern as in Mega Man 4. Direct contact with either 100 Watton itself or the pod the bullets appear from deal 4 damage, while its bullets deal 2 damage.

Mega Man (Game Gear)

100 Watton appears in Mega Man, where it is once again found in Bright Man's stage. Its behaviour and damage are identical to its stats in Mega Man 4.

Trivia

  • 100 Watton is called Light Bulb in the manual for Mega Man, and Bulb Blaster in Nintendo Power issue #32.
  • The name of this enemy is a reference to the wattage of certain light bulbs. In addition, markings of "100 W" can be seen in Bright Man's stages.
