Dust Man (or Dustman) is a Robot Master first appearing in Mega Man 4 and is one of the eight Robot Masters originally built by Dr. Cossack.

Dust Man is a bulky, blue robot with a rectangular nozzle on top of his head, which functions as a powerful vacuum cleaner. His weapon, the Dust Crusher, allows him to expel clumps of waste from it, which can split into smaller shrapnel mid-flight.

Mega Man 4

Boss sprite from Mega Man 4.

In Mega Man 4, Dust Man is one of the main eight Robot Master bosses and appears as the last choice (in reading order) on the stage select screen. His stage is set in a waste processing plant, containing machinery and a large waste compactor room.

In battle, Dust Man can either stand still and slowly suck Mega Man towards him, becoming invincible for the duration, or use the Dust Crusher to launch a clump of waste straight forward. When the projectile reaches Mega Man's horizontal position, it explodes into shrapnel in 4 diagonal directions, which can be avoided by jumping straight up with proper timing. He is also able to reposition himself by jumping very high, moving roughly half the room's width with each jump.

Dust Man's weakness is the Ring Boomerang from Ring Man, which deals 4 damage per hit. Defeating him grants Mega Man the Dust Crusher.

Battle Network era

Dust Man has a Net Navi equivalent in DustMan.EXE, a mascot Navi for recycling who has a waste compactor rather than vacuum cleaner theme. He appears in the Cybeast Falzar version of Mega Man Battle Network 6 and his operator is Mr. Press.

Mega Man Legacy Collection Database

Dust Man appears under "Mega Man 4" in the Database in Mega Man Legacy Collection and is the sixth Robot Master listed for the game. Like other Robot Masters, he can be fought by pressing a designated button while viewing his data.

Dust Man
Created as an automatic trash-gathering robot. He fires back the garbage that he sucks in. His attacks are easy to see coming, so he's not too tough.
