Gravity Beetle, known as Gravity Beetbood (グラビティ・ビートブード) in Japan, is a Maverick from the X era, appearing as one of the main bosses in Mega Man X3. He is a gravity-themed Reploid based on a rhinoceros beetle, who attacks with black holes and his giant horn. He was formerly a Maverick Hunter before he defected to join the Doppler Army.

Gravity Beetle debuts in Mega Man X3 as one of the eight Mavericks on the Stage Select screen. He is a former Maverick Hunter who defected to join the Doppler Army in Dopple Town, and serves as the boss of Airborne Aircraft Carrier Stage. His attack pattern is simple, but can become complicated in his second phase. Defeating Gravity Beetle grants X the Gravity Well. His weakness is the Ray Splasher, from Neon Tiger, which briefly stuns him. A boss attack rematch with Gravity Beetle later occurs in Doppler Stage C.

Once part of the Maverick Hunters 17th Unit, he was the older brother of Boomer Kuwanger (from Mega Man X). He holds a grudge against X and disappeared in order to seek out his revenge. He is a powerful opponent who can control gravity and manipulate black holes.

Gravity Beetle

Though he was once a loyal member of the Maverick Hunters' 17th Unit, Beetle now harbors a grudge towards X for destroying his fellow beetle Reploid, Boomer Kuwanger. He deserted his duties and fled in order to pursue his revenge. Beetle has modified an aerial transport he stole from Hunter HQ into a flying fortress, and has been assaulting airfields around the world. His ability to manipulate gravity and create black holes makes him a fearsome opponent.

• Gravity Beetle's relationship with Boomer Kuwanger varies depending on the source; in Mega Man X3 source books he is called his older brother, while in Compendium of Rockman X he is called his younger brother.
