Frost Walrus, known as Frost Kibatodos (フロスト・キバトドス) in Japan, is a Maverick from the X era, appearing as one of the main bosses in Mega Man X4. He is an ice-themed Reploid based on a walrus (or sea lion in Japan), who attacks with icicles and his giant size. He is a member of Repliforce who participates in their coup d'état.
In the Games
Mega Man X4
Frost Walrus debuted in Mega Man X4 as one of the eight Mavericks on the Stage Select screen. He serves as the boss of the Snow Base stage. The game's Japanese manual states he is a troublesome member of Repliforce who is borderline Maverick, and goes on a rampage in polar regions as part of the coup.[3]
Frost Walrus's attacks are slow, but have wide coverage across the arena. Defeating Frost Walrus grants Frost Tower to X and Hyoretsuzan to Zero. His weakness is the Rising Fire or Ryuenjin from Magma Dragoon, which melts his icicles and resets his pattern. A boss attack rematch with Frost Walrus later occurs in Final Weapon 3.
Mega Man X DiVE
In Mega Man X DiVE, Maverick Data of Frost Walrus appears as a boss in Chapter 15 in Co-op Mode, being fought in Snow Base 15-2.
Other Game Appearances
- In Mega Man X Legacy Collection, Frost Walrus appears in X Challenge. He is fought alongside Chill Penguin in 1-1 in both Volumes.
- In TEPPEN, Frost Walrus appears as a Unit Card.
Other Media

- In the Archie Mega Man comic, Frost Walrus appears in the "Worlds Unite" arc as one of the Mavericks resurrected in Sigma's army.
