Burn Rooster, known as Burn Kokekokker (バーン・コケコッカー) in Japan, is a Maverick from the X era, appearing as one of the main bosses in Mega Man X8. He is a fire-themed Reploid based on a rooster, who attacks with martial arts kicks and flamethrowers. He is a new generation Reploid who managed a Maverick waste disposal center.

Burn Rooster debuted in Mega Man X8 as one of the eight Mavericks on the Stage Select screen. He is a new generation Reploid who rebels by causing an uprising at the disposal center and sabotaging its machinery, serving as the boss of the Inferno stage. He attacks with flames and martial arts, growing stronger when he is hit by weak attacks, and can move the pillars in his arena. Defeating Burn Rooster grants Melt Creeper to X, Enkoujin to Zero, and Flame Burner to Axl. His weakness is the Drift Diamond, Hyouryuushou, or Ice Gattling from Avalanche Yeti, which weakens him and puts out his cockscomb. A boss attack rematch with Burn Rooster later occurs in the Gateway stage.

• In Rockman ✕over, Burn Rooster is one of the four bosses in World 7.
• In TEPPEN, Burn Rooster appears as a Unit Card.

Other Media

• In the Archie Mega Man comic, Burn Rooster appears in the "Worlds Unite" arc as one of the Mavericks resurrected in Sigma's army.

Works at a facility in a volcano, using the natural heat to burn waste. He has a proud and just personality, but some of his friends were destroyed by X and the others, so he holds deep grudges against them. Highly-resistant to heat and adept at using fire.
