Blaze Heatnix (ブレイズ・ヒートニックス) is a Maverick from the X era, appearing as one of the main bosses in Mega Man X6. He is a fire-themed Reploid based on a phoenix, who attacks with lava and flying with his burning body. He is a former disaster relief worker who is now part of the Nightmare Investigators.
Blaze Heatnix debuted in Mega Man X6 as one of the eight Mavericks on the Stage Select screen. He serves as the boss of the Magma Area, observing the Nightmare Magma. He was built by Gate to withstand the heat of subterranean hotspots, and joined a disaster relief team specializing in volcanoes. He was arrogant of his elevated power and began leaving behind colleagues, resulting in needless casualties. Because of this, he was conspired against and disposed of while deep underground. However, he was later resurrected by Gate to serve as a Nightmare Investigator.[1]
In battle, Blaze Heatnix fills the arena with magma to limit the player's movement before pestering them with his own fire attacks. Defeating Heatnix grants Magma Blade to X and Shoenzan to Zero. His weakness is the Ground Dash or Sentsuizan from Ground Scaravich, which briefly stuns him. A boss attack rematch with Blaze Heatnix later occurs in the ?????? stage.
A Reploid created to explore underground for volcanic hotspots, where magma gushes out of the Earth. He worked as a member of a disaster response team, preventing disasters caused by volcanic eruptions that had recently become more active.[JP]

Due to his skill as a hotspot researcher, he forced an unreasonable expedition that resulted in the deaths of all his colleagues. He ended up discarded in the depths underground because he ignored repeated warnings against excessive risk-taking.[JP]
Heatnix is a Reploid specially designed to search out subterranean hotspots — the places where magma breaks through the Earth's mantle. Currently he is assigned to a disaster relief team helping to minimize the damage from a chain of recently erupting volcanoes.
