Render from Mega Man X8.

Avalanche Yeti debuted in Mega Man X8 as one of the eight Mavericks on the Stage Select screen. He serves as the boss of the Central White stage. He is a new generation Reploid who rebels by tampering with an ecological control system in the Antarctic, having lost all hope for the world's environment to recover from years of war and climate change.

Avalanche Yeti attacks with icy punches and tackles from the deep snow filling his arena. Defeating Avalanche Yeti grants Drift Diamond to X, Hyouryuushou to Zero, and Ice Gattling to Axl. His weakness is the Thunder Dancer, Raikousen, or Plasma Gun from Gigabolt Man-O-War, which electrocutes and knocks him down. A boss attack rematch with Avalanche Yeti later occurs in the Gateway stage.
