Mega Man X7
Soldier Stonekong debuts in Mega Man X7 as one of the eight Mavericks on the Stage Select screen. He is a noble warrior who issues a challenge to the Maverick Hunters, serving as the boss of the Deep Forest stage. He runs and climbs around his arena, throwing stones and leaping about. Defeating Soldier Stonekong grants Gaea Shield to Axl and X, and Gokumonken to Zero. His weakness is the Explosion or Hadangeki from Vanishing Gungaroo, which briefly knocks him down. A boss attack rematch with Soldier Stonekong later occurs in the Crimson Palace.
|Dwelling in the depths of the jungle, he squarely confronts the Maverick Hunters like a knight of old. Equipped with a sword and shield made of ultra-hard stone, he repels all attacks.
|The brawn of Red Alert, who values loyalty above all else. He swings around and throws giant stones with overwhelming strength. He fights with a powerful sword and even uses his shield as a weapon.
|Throws a stone on the floor, which splits in half and moves around the arena.
|Approaches to attack with his giant sword.
|Throws his shield, which is indestructible.
|Jumps and attacks with his sword.
|Bursting forth from his hiding place in the deep jungle, Stonekong faces his enemies in fair fights like an honorable warrior of old. He plans to smash the Maverick Hunters with his sword of ultra-hard stone while his shield deflects any and all attacks.
Behind the Scenes
- "I was in charge of Stonekong's design. I was going for the sort of sophisticated design reminiscent of 'X1' and the robot animes from the '80s, the kind of thing the kids love. I was kind of hoping that my design would influence the other designers to an extent, but I came into 'X7' a little late in the game, so it was too late for that." - (Tatsuya Yoshikawa)
- "His design was made to emphasize the volume of his upper body, and a cool silhouette with the buttocks sticking out. The lamp on his butt was required, but I like the balance of the pipes because it conveys an image of muscles and fur." - (Concept Art Room)
