Soldier Stonekong (ソルジャー・ストンコング) is a Maverick from the X era, appearing as one of the main bosses in Mega Man X7. He is a stone-themed Reploid based on a gorilla, who attacks with a sword and shield made of rocks. He is a member of the vigilante syndicate Red Alert.
Soldier Stonekong debuted in Mega Man X7 as one of the eight Mavericks on the Stage Select screen. He is a noble warrior who issues a challenge to the Maverick Hunters, serving as the boss of the Deep Forest stage. He runs and climbs around his arena, throwing stones and leaping about. Defeating Soldier Stonekong grants Gaea Shield to Axl and X, and Gokumonken to Zero. His weakness is the Explosion or Hadangeki from Vanishing Gungaroo, which briefly knocks him down. A boss attack rematch with Soldier Stonekong later occurs in the Crimson Palace.

Behind the Scenes
Developer Commentary
"I was in charge of Stonekong's design. I was going for the sort of sophisticated design reminiscent of 'X1' and the robot animes from the '80s, the kind of thing the kids love. I was kind of hoping that my design would influence the other designers to an extent, but I came into 'X7' a little late in the game, so it was too late for that." - (Tatsuya Yoshikawa)[1]
"His design was made to emphasize the volume of his upper body, and a cool silhouette with the buttocks sticking out. The lamp on his butt was required, but I like the balance of the pipes because it conveys an image of muscles and fur." - (Concept Art Room)[3]
