Earthrock Trilobyte, known as Earthrock Torirovich (アースロック・トリロビッチ)[3] in Japan, is a Maverick from the X era, appearing as one of the main bosses in Mega Man X8. He is an earth-themed Reploid based on a trilobite, who attacks with crystal walls and spheres. He is a new generation Reploid who managed a valuable Rare Metal mine.
In the Games
Mega Man X8
Earthrock Trilobyte debuts in Mega Man X8 as one of the eight Mavericks on the Stage Select screen. He is a new generation Reploid who rebels by diverting his mine's metals to the rebellion instead of to Jakob, serving as the boss of the Metal Valley stage. His crystal attacks aren't too difficult to manage, but his carapace armor must be knocked off before he can be damaged. Defeating Earthrock Trilobyte grants Crystal Wall to X, Rekkyoudan to Zero, and Bound Blaster to Axl. His weakness is the Squeeze Bomb, Juuhazan, or Spiral Magnum from Gravity Antonion, which destroys his armor entirely and leaves him vulnerable. A boss attack rematch with Earthrock Trilobyte later occurs in the Gateway stage.
Other Media
- In the Archie Mega Man comic, Earthrock Trilobyte appears in the "Worlds Unite" arc as one of the Mavericks resurrected in Sigma's army.
