Dark Necrobat (ダーク・ネクロバット), also known as Dark Dizzy, is a Maverick from the X era, appearing as one of the main bosses in Mega Man X5. He is a darkness-themed Reploid based on a vampire bat, who attacks with Batton Bones and shadow powers. He is a former Maverick created by Sigma who possesses the Fuel Tank required for the Space Shuttle project.

Dark Necrobat debuts in Mega Man X5 as one of the eight Mavericks on the Stage Select screen. He is a Maverick who escaped service of Sigma, and now holds the Fuel Tank needed for the Space Shuttle in the Planetarium Stage. He is a relatively easy boss who rarely attacks, and when he does, they can easily be countered. Defeating Dark Necrobat grants Dark Hold to both X and Zero. His weakness is the F-Laser or C-Flasher from Shining Firefly, which stuns him and makes him fall. A boss attack rematch with Dark Necrobat later occurs in Zero Space Stage 4: Birth.

Jurassic Inferno Dark Necrobat

A bat Reploid whom Sigma built as a Maverick three years ago. He hated being bossed around and eventually escaped; since his fighting ability is lackluster, Sigma decided he was not of much use and forgot about him. He now hides out in the secret space laboratory of the planetarium, where there is a Fuel Tank that can be used for the Shuttle. His Dark Hold is a terrifying technique that freezes time for a certain period of time.

	Dark Necrobat
	A Maverick purpose-built by Sigma three years ago, he escaped his former master and has been missing ever since. Though almost entirely forgotten by Sigma, who grew dissatisfied with his sub-par combat abilities, he still wields a terrifying power with his Dark Hold technology, which can stop time for a few vital seconds.

"This one was influenced by a certain manga, so perhaps they asked the designer, "Please give him a "Kōmori_rasu" vibe!" (laugh) However, as you can see the result is a smart design that I really like. Just before the game was completed, we discovered a bug that made his Dark Hold perpetually freeze the game. Trivia

• Dark Necrobat's name in the original English release, Dark Dizzy, was inspired by Dizzy Reed, the keyboardist of the rock band Guns N' Roses.
• In the Mega Man X Legacy Collection port, when Necrobat is defeated he does not have the white flashing that the other bosses have as they explode, stopping as soon as the explosions start.
