For some unknown reason, the programs of Reploids are suddenly erased. The Reploids stopped moving and almost seemed like they had become hollow shells. This phenomenon was named "ERASURE" and began to frighten the Reploids... "Laguz Island" in the Southern Ocean. Here is where the Reploid Research Lavatory is located. [sic] One day, the readings of Reploids had instantly vanished. A lot of Reploids were erased! What happened in this island...? Maverick Hunters, X and Zero received the orders and head into action!

The programs of Reploids suddenly disappear. And, as if their souls have been extracted, they can no longer move and become cold scrap metal. With their souls erased, the Reploids are pieces of junk. This phenomenon is dubbed "Erasure", and is highly feared. Laguz is an island in the southern ocean housing a Reploid research facility. One day, suddenly the Reploid readings from Laguz vanish in an instant. A huge mass of Reploids have been Erased! What exactly happened on this island? Maverick Hunters X and Zero receive the order to move out!
