The Hermes Armor (ヘルメスアーマー)[1] is a set of Armor Parts obtained from the Light Capsules in Mega Man X8.

In the Games

Mega Man X8

The Hermes Armor debuted in Mega Man X8. It is a variation of the Neutral Armor that emphasizes speed and efficiency, such as increasing movement speed and charge speed. It can be equipped one piece at a time, and can even be mixed with the parts of the Icarus Armor.

While all four Armor Parts of the Hermes Armor are equipped, X can use the X-Drive (Xドライブ). It acts similarly to a Giga Attack, as it can only be used with full Weapon Energy. When activated, X gains a temporary buff to all of his Hermes Armor effects.

Programs Location Effect
Helmet Parts H Central White Doubles the charge rate of the X-Buster and all Special Weapons.
X-Drive: Quadruples charge rate instead.
Body Parts H Pitch Black Grants complete invincibility to weak enemy attacks that deal 2 damage or less.
X-Drive: Extends mercy invincibility duration and grants Metals equivalent to damage taken as well.
Buster Parts H Troia Base Upgrades X's third and fourth Charge Shot level to the Spread Charge Shot (拡散チャージショット). The Lv.03 Charge Shot fires three Lv.02 Charge Shots in a spread trajectory, while the Lv.04 Charge Shot fires three Lv.03 Charge Shots in the same manner. X can also charge Special Weapons.
X-Drive: Spread Charge Shot fires five Charge Shots instead of three.
Foot Parts H Inferno Doubles movement speed and Dash speed, and upgrades the Dash with invisibility that makes X invincible to most projectile attacks for the duration. Some obstacles can still harm X, such as the fans in Pitch Black.
X-Drive: Quadruples movement speed and Dash speed instead.
