Bunby Heli,[1] also known as Bunby Heri[2] or Blader,[3] is an enemy from the Classic era, first appearing in the original Mega Man. It is a flying, dome-shaped robot with a grinning face and a helicopter blade attached to the top.

In the Games

Mega Man

Bunby Heli sprite from Mega Man.

In Mega Man, Bunby Helis are found in Cut Man's, Bomb Man's and Elec Man's stages, as well as Dr. Wily stage 2. In Cut Man's stage, they are found at the beginning of the level, and thus often the first enemy that players encounter in the game. Bunby Helis use their helicopter blade to fly left or right, but will swoop up or down towards Mega Man when he comes near in order to collide with him.

Touching a Bunby Heli deals 3 units of damage to Mega Man and can be dangerous near pits, as the collision will force him to stagger backwards. They can be destroyed in one hit from any weapon and are worth 500 points.

Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge

Sprite from Dr. Wily's Revenge.

Bunby Helis return in Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge, now appearing in Ice Man's stage and Fire Man's stage. They behave similarly to their Mega Man 1 counterparts, but are marginally more dangerous, as Mega Man has fewer health points in this game but takes the same amount of damage. Nonetheless, they can still be destroyed in one hit.
