Nana (ナナ) is a minor character from the X era, first appearing as a navigator in Mega Man X: Command Mission. She is a female Reploid with pink hair and cream and orange-coloured armour; the "7" numerals on her chest refers to her name, which is Japanese for the number seven.

In the Games

Mega Man X: Command Mission

Nana debuted as a supporting character in Mega Man X: Command Mission, first appearing in Chapter 3. With Central Tower liberated from the Rebellion, Chief R orders X and Spider to infiltrate Tianna Camp and rescue the Resistance POWs being held there, including Nana. Chief R describes her as an excellent system operator who can run Central Tower's teleport device.

In Tianna Camp, Nana is forced by her captor, Silver Horn, to monitor the entire prison from the Dark Room. Once X's party rescues her, Nana stays in the Dark Room to support them through the prison. She becomes suspicious of Massimo, as the prison records state that a Massimo was executed five days ago. However, Silver Horn soon discovers her insubordination and takes her to the Aqua Coliseum to torture her. X's party hears her screams and rushes to the rescue, destroying Silver Horn and extracting her to safety.

For the rest of the game, Nana acts as the operator for the Resistance, and can be found seated in the Central Tower's Command Room with Chief R. The player can interact with her to access the Deployment Center, Sky Room, or the next Chapter of the story. She can also be spoken to, revealing her feelings about the team and concerns for the plot of the Rebellion.

Nana is last seen in the game's ending cutscene, sitting quietly in a desolate part of Giga City with Hacchan, until she looks up to see the explosion of Supra-Force Metal in the atmosphere.

Mega Man X DiVE

Nana's model in Mega Man X DiVE, with Gravitational Pulse equipped.

Nana appears as an unlockable Hunter Program in the mobile crossover game Mega Man X DiVE, marking the first time she has been playable and also her first appearance in a platformer game. She is an S-rank character and was first made available on 4 May 2022 as a gacha capsule drop, coinciding with the Command Mission-themed Event The Faithful Guardian.

Nana's Active Skills are both references to her debut game, Mega Man X: Command Mission. Long Distance Strike uses the item Ultra Blizzard, and Modifier Chips can turn it into an Ultra Fire or Ultra Thunder instead. Precise Analysis refers to the Force Metal Analyzer, which allows the player to view the stats and weaknesses of enemies during combat.

Other Game Appearances

  • In the cancelled Rockman Online, Nana was planned to appear as a navigator.
  • In TEPPEN, Nana appears as a Unit Card.

Trivia

  • Nana's design follows an overall theme of luck. Her name (ナナ) is the word for the numeral "7" in Japanese, referencing the legend that it is a lucky number. She also has a horseshoe shape on her belt, which is another symbol of luck.
  • In Mega Man X6, there is an Injured Reploid also named Nana in Inami Temple.
  • In Mega Man ZX Advent, there is a Hunter in Hunter's Camp also named Nana. She tells the player how to use Warp Points, reminiscent of Nana's role in Mega Man X: Command Mission.
