File RX2: Mega Mission
This article is a stub. You can help Mega Man Wiki by expanding it.

File RX2: Mega Mission (File RX2:メガミッション) is a manga one-shot by Hitoshi Ariga. It is an adaptation of the Rockman X Mega Mission Carddass series. It was originally published in Comic BomBom 1995 Summer Vacation Jumbo Special Edition, and later Rockman Remix in 1996, and Mega Man Maniax in 2011.
In 2018, Udon Entertainment announced plans to publish an official English localization in full color, called Mega Man X: Mega Mission, slated for January 2019.[1] That year, an update stated the manga was translated and still in the works.[2] In 2025, Udon acknowledged the project had been delayed but stated it was now back on the table.[3]
Story
The manga follows the plot of the Rockman X Mega Mission Carddass, with some slight deviations. It begins with Zero in a remote ghost town, defeating Boomer Kuwanger L and discovering his Limited. Curtiss suddenly retrieves Kuwanger's body, attacking Zero and escaping. Elsewhere, Dr. Doppler and his assistant watch X tracking Zero's location on a Ride Chaser. X is attacked by Wire Hetimarl L, but once he defeats him, a Limited leaps out. Zero appears and shoots the Limited down, but it splashes onto X's X-Buster. Curtiss grabs the broken Limited and escapes, and X quickly passes out.
In a vision, X meets iX, a manifestation of his Limited infection. Zero wakes him up, revealing that he now has the Clear Buster. X suddenly shoots Zero before awakening outside, where he is accosted by Burnin' Noumander L, Sting Chameleao L, and Storm Eagleed L. Although moved by remorse, X loses control and quickly destroys them all. He again sees iX, who offers him power.
Dr. Doppler orders Schmitt to steal X's Clear Buster. Meanwhile, X faces Curtiss, who is terrified by X's new power and surrenders. As he is about to reveal his leader, he is beheaded by Schmitt. X and Schmitt face off, but the leftover Limited exhibits evolution by crawling, so Schmitt decides to retreat with them and summons Bubbly Crablos L, Flame Stagger L, and Wheel Alligates L to cover him. X easily dispatches the Limit Repliroids with his newly-mutated Clear High Buster, but begins to resist the Limited's influence. Schmitt is about to finish him off, but he is intercepted by the injured Zero, who defeats him and brings X back to reality.
The wounded Schmitt is approached by Dr. Doppler, who forces him into the Mother Limited to create a physical iX. Zero is shot in the back by iX, infuriating X into accepting the Limited again and gaining the Clear Armor. X is about to defeat iX when Zero stands in the way, again bringing him back so he can focus, channeling the Clear Armor into a shot that removes it and destroys iX simultaneously.
However, Dr. Doppler reveals himself and the Mother Limited. X is disgusted by Doppler's callous reuse of the deceased Reploids. X and Zero fire at the Mother Limited with a Double Buster inspired by the fallen, destroying the Mother Limited, but it is revealed that Doppler was just a hologram as he fades away. X is disturbed by having killed all the Reploids a second time, making a metal cross to mark their grave.
