From Mega Man Wiki

This article is a stub. You can help Mega Man Wiki by expanding it.

Rockman X Mega Mission 4 (ロックマンXメガミッション4) was a continuation of the Carddass series Rockman X Mega Mission, released by Bandai in 2018. It was a line of collectible cards that told a sequel story to Rockman X Mega Mission 3, set after the events of Mega Man X3.[1] It was originally planned to release in 1996, but was canceled, only to finally be released in an abridged form in 2018. A sequel called Rockman X Giga Mission released in 2019.

Story

After helping X and Zero defeat Sigma Limited, Return iX secretly obtained the Sigma Chip and revived himself. He also discovered a Light Capsule, using the Limited to infect it and power himself up into a new form, Grow iX. He then used the capsule to resurrect four destroyed Mavericks (Acid Seaforce L, Cristar Mymine L, Frozen Buffalio L, and Screw Masaider L). He also merged the remains of other Mavericks into a pair of extra powerful Reploids called Confuse A Stoner, Himmel and Berg. With these six warriors, Grow iX's new GX Army moved to find X.

X and Zero are attacked by the GX Army while testing a new Ride Armor-Ride Chaser combo called the Gazelle. As the pair discovers that iX is behind the attack, the Limited-infused Light Capsule goes out of control, becoming a Mother Limited. X obtains the Grow Up Armor in the aftermath, receiving the body and arm parts from Himmel and the foot parts from Berg.

Realizing that he still can't beat X alone, Grow iX absorbs Mother Limited, becoming Doppler iX. On the verge of losing, Doppler iX attempts a suicide attack to take X and Zero with him. The outcome of the attack was left ambiguous, though the manga for Rockman X Giga Mission implies it was a tragic end for iX.[1]
