Model W, known as Model V (モデルV) in Japan, is a Biometal that serves as the main antagonistic force of the ZX era. It contains the data of Dr. Weil (known as Dr. Vile in Japan) and is the original Biometal, being the most powerful and dangerous of them all.

Model W appears in multiple forms. Refined fragments of Model W resemble miniature versions of Dr. Weil's cyborg body. The Model W core and its pieces are giant chunks of metal with glowing red lines and spherical gems.

In the Games

Mega Man ZX

Model W first appeared in Mega Man ZX. It is first seen in Area D (Highway), where Serpent introduces himself as the "Model W Mega Man" and uses a Model W fragment to brainwash Girouette into fighting Vent/Aile to the death. Afterwards, Prairie analyzes data from Mavericks to learn that Model W has the power to corrupt humans and machines alike, making it the cause of Maverick attacks. She deduces that Serpent only has a fragment of Model W, and that he must be seeking the Model W core to unlock the rest of its power. She also knows that the six Biometal made by Ciel hold passwords to reveal the core's location, so Vent/Aile chooses to retake the other Biometal so they can reach it first.

Over the course of the game, Vent/Aile and the Guardians uncover information about Model W. In Area F (Lake), Vent/Aile finds data explaining how Ciel and the Guardians came across the Model W fragment years ago, before one of them went mad and killed their comrades for it. Another report in Area J (Undersea Tunnel) confirms that Serpent was the one who stole it, and he has covered up his involvement in the incident. As they fight Prometheus, Pandora, and the Pseudoroids working for Slither Inc., Vent/Aile also learns that Serpent is causing the Maverick attacks to foster negativity from humanity for the Model W core to awaken. Upon gathering all six Biometal, Prairie unlocks a final report on Model W, revealing it is made from the debris of Ragnarok after Dr. Weil fused with it to fight Zero centuries ago.

Vent/Aile travels to Area M (Remains), planning to destroy the Model W core, and uses the six Biometal's passwords to unlock the gate placed by Ciel. However, Pandora arrives and forces them into a fight, allowing Serpent to extract the core. When Vent/Aile give chase in Area O (Highway 2), they are again confronted by Prometheus and Pandora, who mysteriously imply that Serpent is merely a pawn of Model W and that they actually serve the Biometal, not him.

In Slither Inc. head office, Serpent has prepared scores of Cyber-elves containing negativity for Model W. When Vent/Aile confronts him, he Megamerges with his Model W fragment to fight them as a fellow Mega Man. Although he is defeated, Vent/Aile's resentment for Serpent feeds the Model W core the last negativity it needs to awaken, and Serpent allows himself to be absorbed by it to enter a monstrous final form. Encouraged by their own Biometal, Vent/Aile fights and defeats Serpent, causing him to explode and his office to collapse.

Mega Man ZX Advent

In Mega Man ZX Advent, Model W returns and its origins are explored. After Serpent's destruction, the Model W core exploded and its pieces were randomly scattered across Cinq Ville and the surrounding area. Despite this, Grey/Ashe begin facing Pseudoroids such as Buckfire the Gaxelleroid who are empowered by Model W fragments from a mysterious source.

Model W is first seen in the Tower of Verdure, where a piece (simply called "a Model W") is entangled. Once its caretaker, Rospark the Floroid, is destroyed by Grey/Ashe, Aeolus and Siarnaq arrive to collect the Model W, scolding them for their ignorance of the Game of Destiny. In the Oil Field, Atlas intends to sacrifice the stranded Raiders to Model W, but her plan is foiled by Grey/Ashe. Upon copying her DNA data with Model A, a cipher unlocks, revealing that Model W was hidden long ago by an unknown individual, and that he who awakens Model W with sacrifices will obtain the power to rule the world. This is what the rival Mega Men are after.

After defeating Siarnaq in Legion HQ and copying his DNA data, another cipher reveals that the creator of Model W is one of the Sage Trinity. He is soon revealed to be Master Albert; when Grey/Ashe refuses to join the Game of Destiny, Albert flees with four Model W fragments. Master Thomas investigates, discovering that he has been working on Model W for centuries. Maverick attacks accelerate as Albert and the four rival Mega Men expedite the Game of Destiny, so Grey/Ashe begin tracking down the pieces of Model W to destroy them.

In the Control Center and Scrapyard, Grey/Ashe defeat Queenbee the Hymenopteroid and Vulturon the Condoroid for the Model Ws in their care, only for Prometheus and Pandora to whisk them away at the last minute. They fight Aeolus in the Floating Ruins and Thetis in the Highway, and although they too extract their Model Ws, two ciphers are unlocked. One reveals that Prometheus and Pandora are permanently Megamerged with Model W fragments and are forced by Albert to serve it, and the other reveals that all Mega Men are infused with Albert's DNA data so that they can access Model W. Despite a misunderstanding with Vent/Aile in the Quarry, the two Mega Men work together to destroy a Model W piece powering Spidrill Neo. This meeting unlocks a final cipher, revealing that the Game of Destiny is a farce to get Mega Men to do Albert's dirty work before he takes all the Model Ws in the end to gain godlike power.

Upon infiltrating Albert's base in Undersea Volcano, Grey/Ashe find a chamber full of Model Ws. They watch as Prometheus and Pandora betray Albert to escape his service, seemingly cutting him down, but Albert's body is revealed to be a decoy, and Prometheus and Pandora's centuries-worth of negativity is used to awaken all the Model Ws. They combine, forming the massive Ouroboros. Grey/Ashe and Vent/Aile infiltrate Ouroboros, where they learn that Albert now possesses "the real A-Trans" which controls life itself. Despite this, Grey/Ashe perseveres and defeats Albert, destroying him and causing Ouroboros to crumble into the ocean. This leaves the ultimate fate of Model W a mystery.
