Aeolus (ヘリオス, lit. "Helios") is an antagonist in Mega Man ZX Advent. He is the Biomatch for Model H, and one of four rival Mega Men seeking to awaken Model W and win the Game of Destiny. He plans to use Model W to kill all "fools" and perfect the world. He is fought as the boss of the Floating Ruins.
Physical appearance
Aeolus is a pale young man with silver hair, with a pointed fringe covering one half of his face. Due to this hairstyle, it is unclear if he is a Humanoid or Reploid (since it covers his forehead where a red Reploid mark might be). He wears an archetypal Mega Man vest with a green color and coattails extending to his ankles, and has elegant pointed shoes and small earrings on his earpieces. He is always seen holding a sword in a royal-looking scabbard. He also has red eyes, like the other rival Mega Men.
When he Megamerges with Model H, Aeolus gains bright green Mega Man armor. It has two two wings on either side of the helmet, and two back-mounted thrusters that resemble bat-like wings when activated. He also wields two purple beam sabers called the Double Sabers.
Personality
Aeolus is a twisted reflection of Sage Harpuia. He shares his uptight perfectionism, but with an extra cruel and selfish edge. He is an arrogant and uppity narcissist who treats everyone with prideful disdain, especially the inexperienced Model A Mega Man. He deems mankind foolish and cites this as the root cause of all conflict; thus, he joined the Game of Destiny to bring peace by ridding the Earth of whatever he deems ignorance.[1] Thetis is allegedly the only Mega Man who Aeolus can tolerate, as he despises Grey and Siarnaq for their incompleteness (despite having been seen together with Siarnaq, ironically enough), Atlas for her stubborn obsession with conflict, and Ashe for her unrealistic optimism.[2] He also refuses to believe that he was manipulated by Master Albert, showing that he never accepts his mistakes. However, he is touched by Model Z's sacrifice to let Vent/Aile escape, showing a softer side, or at least an appreciation for poetic gestures.
In the Games
Mega Man ZX Advent

Aeolus debuted in Mega Man ZX Advent. His backstory is left a mystery, but he holds himself with great pride, being overly sophisticated and having a fierce superiority complex.[3] When he was approached by Prometheus and Pandora, he accepted Model H and joined the Game of Destiny to get rid of the world's foolishness and imperfections.[4][1]
Aeolus first appears alongside Siarnaq in the Tower of Verdure, where they face Grey/Ashe after hearing about them from Prometheus. Aeolus Megamerges with Model H and insults them for their inexperience, before they depart with the Model W core.
Aeolus is next found in the Floating Ruins, where he defends the Model W core responsible for distorting the environment's gravity. He ridicules Grey/Ashe for not understanding its power, leading to a boss battle. Upon his defeat, he retreats and takes the Model W core with him. Grey/Ashe then absorbs Aeolus' DNA data for A-Trans, which also unlocks a Model A cipher that reveals how Albert selected the Mega Men.
After the Pseudoroid boss attack in Ouroboros, Aeolus returns alongside the other Mega Men to defend Albert. Vent/Aile keeps them busy, allowing Grey/Ashe to face Albert alone. Once Grey/Ashe destroys Albert and triggers the collapse of Ouroboros, Model Z immobilizes Aeolus via Model H, allowing Vent/Aile to escape with the unconscious Grey/Ashe. Aeolus disappears in the collapse with the other Mega Men.
In the bonus Extreme mode ending, Aeolus is summoned to serve Master Thomas alongside the other three Mega Men. The significance of this is left a mystery due to the cliffhanger ending of the ZX era.
Other Media
- In the Rockman ZX Advent manga, Aeolus briefly appears in the final issue with the other Mega Men as the Game of Destiny begins.
