The Armor Parts (アーマーパーツ)[1], also known as Armor Power-Ups (アーマーパワーアップ) or Power-Up Parts (パワーアップパーツ),[2][3] are special power-up items appearing in the X era. When X obtains these items, he equips pieces of armor that change his appearance and grant him new abilities.

In the Games

Mega Man X

Armor Parts were introduced in the first Mega Man X. It established the convention for the series: the Armor Parts can be found in hidden Light Capsules, having been created by Dr. Light and granted by a holographic replica of himself. When X enters a Light Capsule, he is automatically equipped with the Parts stored within. They are often divided into four Parts which must all be collected separately to complete the armor.

Head Parts

The Head Parts (ヘッドパーツ)[1], also known as Head Program (ヘッドプログラム)[4] or Helmet Parts (ヘルメットパーツ),[5] are a portion of Armor Parts that enhance X's helmet armor. They often grant extra abilities that help locate hidden items or increase his Weapon Energy efficiency, but vary wildly between armors.

Body Parts

The Body Parts (ボディパーツ)[1], also known as Body Program (ボディプログラム)[4], Chest Parts (胸部パーツ)[6], or Custom Parts (カスタムパーツ)[7], are a portion of Armor Parts that enhance X's chest and shoulder armor. They enhance his defenses and sometimes grant a Giga Crash or Giga Attack technique.

Arm Parts

The Arm Parts (アームパーツ)[1], also known as Arm Program (アームプログラム)[4] or Buster Parts (バスターパーツ)[7][8], are a portion of Armor Parts that enhance X's arm and X-Buster armor. They enhance his Charge Shot and often grant him the ability to charge Special Weapons too, with some exceptions.

Foot Parts

The Foot Parts (フットパーツ)[1], also known as Foot Program (フットプログラム)[4] or Feet Parts (フィットパーツ)[7], are a portion of Armor Parts that enhance X's leg and foot armor. They enhance his mobility, often including an enhanced Dash or an aerial mobility technique.
