Split Heavens (天裂刃) is an EX Skill appearing in Mega Man Zero 3. It can be obtained by defeating Hanumachine R at Level A or higher. It allows Zero to perform a rising slash with his Z-Saber.
In the Games
Mega Man Zero 3
In Mega Man Zero 3, Zero obtains Split Heavens by defeating Hanumachine R with a Level A or higher. By holding up before attacking with the Z-Saber on the ground, Zero performs a rising uppercut slash that lifts him off the ground and into the air. Holding the attack button will make Split Heavens travel higher. If Zero is equipped with the Flame Chip, the blade gains fire properties.
With the default Head, Light Body and Quick Foot Chips equipped, Zero can perform this technique after the third Z-Saber slash by pressing up at the end of the combo. This can make using Split Heavens after a Z-Saber combo much safer. Timing is crucial with this maneuver, since it is possible to trigger the rise slash instead.
Split Heavens is one of the most versatile EX Skills in the game. It allows the player to attack enemies in the air for more damage than a single air slash and is faster than charging a Charge Saber. It has a hit priority of 4, meaning it can be used after many attacks. In combos, it is best followed up by a Rolling Slash or Saber Smash.
