Mega Man X8
White Axl debuts in Mega Man X8. It may be unlocked by entering a code on the title screen, or by starting a new game from a save file that has been cleared with all of Axl's Rare Metals crafted. Note that the code only functions on console versions of the game (including the Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 re-release).
The context and even the name of this upgrade are left a complete mystery in the game. The book Mega Man X: Maverick Hunter's Field Guide claims that Axl received this upgrade after his battle with Lumine, and based on the similarity of their color palettes (white, purple, and green), there is a connection implied between this form and Lumine.[2]
