X era

X's X-Buster is equipped with a Variable Weapons System (武器可変システム)[3] that similarly allows him to incorporate the abilities of defeated Maverick bosses to use Special Weapons. Zero uses a similar system called Learning (ラーニング)[5] that allows him to learn from the abilities of Maverick bosses to devise his own Techniques, similar to Special Weapons. Axl uses his Copy Chip to copy the abilities of Maverick bosses to use Special Weapons. Vile's usage of Maverick weapons is never explained in lore.
