Hunter Rank (ハンターランク), also known as Hunter Class (ハンタークラス), is a ranking system used throughout the Mega Man series, which debuted in the X era. It was initially mentioned in material for Mega Man X, and was first integrated into gameplay in Mega Man X5.

In the Games

Mega Man X

In Mega Man X, Hunter Rank is briefly mentioned in supplementary material as a way to illustrate the gap of power between X and other characters. The Maverick Hunters are divided into four ranks: Special A (特A), A, B, and C. Sigma, Zero, and Vile are all described as elite SA-Rank Hunters, who only make up 0.01% of all Maverick Hunters, while X is an average B-Rank Hunter.[1]
