Human

A human (人間) is the most common and widespread species of primate, and the original citizens of the Earth in the Mega Man franchise. They are most notable for their creation of the robots, who are the main characters of the series.

In the Games

Classic era

In the Classic era, humans such as Dr. Light and Dr. Wily are scientists who create robots.

X era

In the X era, humans put advanced robots known as Reploids into production. Reploids possess free will and thought processes comparable to humans - however, some Reploids develop glitches, resenting or even acting out against the humans. These Reploids are labeled Mavericks, and are dealt with by an organization called the Maverick Hunters that fights to protect humans.

Zero era

In the Zero era, the Earth has been devastated by the Maverick Wars and Elf Wars, forcing the majority of humans to live within the city-state of Neo Arcadia.

ZX era

In the ZX era, a new world government called Legion created laws to help equalize humans and Reploids: enhancing humans with bionic robotic parts, while limiting the powers and lifespans of Reploids. The resulting cyborg humans led to the term Humanoid (ヒューマノイド) basically replacing the term human.
