Big Snake[1] is a Virus (and Virus family) in the original Mega Man Battle Network and its remake, Rockman.EXE: Operate Shooting Star. It resembles a large, green snake that is split into three parts - two round, spiked body segments and a head - and able to conjure snake eggs, which hatch into smaller snakes.

Big Snake appears as a late-game Virus in Mega Man Battle Network and is always encountered on an empty field by itself, acting as a sort of sub-boss. It moves across panels erratically, its head leading the way and its two body segments trailing behind. The head periodically opens its mouth, sending a shockwave forward that can deal significant damage to MegaMan.EXE.
Once its health has dropped to half or lower, it also becomes capable of using its own Battle Chip - Snakegg1 - to summon a snake egg in MegaMan's area, which hatches into a smaller snake that moves erratically and deals collision damage, but can be destroyed with four Mega Buster shots. Only one such snake can exist at a time, though the Big Snake can resummon it quickly after it has been destroyed.
Only the head of a Big Snake is susceptible to damage, while the invincible body segments may get in the way of MegaMan's shots. Along with this Virus's high health pool, this can make for a relatively lengthy battle.
