Mega Man Wiki Logo.png This Draft policy. Please help us decide on this policy on the Mega Man Wiki talk:Coverage page.
No details have been given.

This is a page to talk about the content scope and other details about what this wiki covers and doesn't cover.

General

  • This wiki mainly covers the Mega Man franchise, including but not limited to: video games, animated series (such as anime produced in Japan and the tv show made by Ruby Spears), toys, etc.
  • All media is organized into "eras" based on what in-universe time period the media takes place in, borrows content from, etc.
    • Eras are then broken up into series, groupings, etc. as needed. Examples:
      • The Classic Era has games and other media that star characters from the year 20XX. From here, Mega Man 2 and Mega Man 3 are part of the same era and series, but Mega Man II is from a different series in the same era.
  • Aspect list:
    • images
      • screenshots
      • sprites
      • models
      • box arts
      • illustrations
    • games
    • eras
    • series
    • weapons
    • items
    • characters
  • Fan-made content can only be covered if it was given Capcom's blessing and/or has notablitiy (such as showing up on in Robot Chicken)

Crossover content

  • Games, TV Shows, etc. that include Mega Man-related content, but aren't focused on said content, should be written to only include how they are related to the Mega Man franchise. Some examples:
    • Games of the Super Smash Bros. series from 4 onward, since not Mega Man-related content didn't appear in Smash 64, Melee and Brawl.
    • Characters, Weapons, etc. who aren't natively part of the Mega Man franchise, only get their own pages if they have showed up in multiple pieces of Media. Examples:
Name Media
Sonic the Hedgehog Super Smash Bros. 4 and Ultimate, Archie Comics crossover.

Templates

  • Each page gets all the navigation templates that relate to it

Categories

  • Category formats:
    • [[Category:<game title> <aspects>]]

Files

  • File formats:
    • [[File:<game title> <aspects>]]
  • transparent png is the preferred format.
