Tomahawk Man (or Tomahawkman) is a Robot Master first appearing in Mega Man 6. Like the other Robot Masters from the game, he was built by an unspecified creator for the First Annual Robot Tournament before being stolen and reprogrammed by Dr. Wily in his Mr. X persona.

Tomahawk Man's design is fashioned after a Native American warrior, likely Plains Indian, wearing war paint and a feather headdress. His weapon is the Silver Tomahawk, which he can throw, and he also uses his feathers as a form of attack.

In the Games

Mega Man 6

Boss sprite from Mega Man 6.

In Mega Man 6, Tomahawk Man is one of the main eight Robot Masters that must be fought to reach Mr. X's fortress, appearing as the fifth option (in reading order) on the stage select screen. His stage is the Restricted Area, resembling a North American desert, and his title given in his boss intro is "Master of Tomahawk".

In battle, Tomahawk Man has two attacks, either throwing his Silver Tomahawk (which moves in a slight upwards arc) or throwing three feathers from his headdress straight forward, which all appears at the same time, but move further apart as they go. He also can reposition himself with small hops or medium-height jumps.

Tomahawk Man is weak to the Plant Barrier, which deals 4 damage to him. Defeating him grants Mega Man the Silver Tomahawk.

Battle Network era

Tomahawk Man has a NetNavi equivalent in TomahawkMan.EXE, appearing very similar to his Robot Master version. He first appears in the Team Colonel version of Mega Man Battle Network 5, where he joins the team with his Operator, Dingo.

Trivia

  • Although Tomahawk Man has not appeared in any Mega Man TV series, he and the other Robot Masters from Mega Man 6 briefly appear in animated form in that game's Japanese commercial.[1]
  • The Mega Man 6 Robot Masters are implied to come from different countries all over the world, though their exact origins are not specified. Tomahawk Man's Native American theme and stage resembling a North American desert suggest that he originates from that part of the world, with his country of origin implied to be the United States in the English-language manual.
