The Fourth Armor (フォースアーマー)[1], also translated as the Force Armor[2] or known as the Normal Armor (ノーマルアーマー)[3], is a set of Armor Parts obtained from the Light Capsules in Mega Man X4.

In the Games

Mega Man X4

The Fourth Armor debuted in Mega Man X4. It is most notable for its Hover ability, its Nova Strike attack, and its two variable Arm Parts. The player can freely choose between two Light Capsules in the same room that contain different Arm Parts: the Stock Charge Shot (ストックチャージショット) which has white arms and blue gloves, and the Plasma Charge Shot (プラズマチャージショット) which has black arms and red gloves. A more powerful version of the Fourth Armor, the Ultimate Armor, is also available as a secret upgrade.

Head Parts

Cyber Space Normal Special Weapon shots consume no Weapon Energy, while Special Weapon Charge Shots consume a decreased amount.
Body Parts

Volcano Reduces all damage received by 50%, and grants X the Nova Strike. Its Weapon Energy slowly fills over time or whenever X takes damage from enemy attacks, allowing X to use the Nova Strike to attack with an invincible flying dash.
Arm Parts

Air Force Upgrades X's Charge Shot 2 to the Stock Charge Shot, which can store up to four Charge Shots in reserve so they can be fired freely later (indicated by icons below X's Life Energy meter). X can also charge Special Weapons.
Upgrades X's Charge Shot 2 to the Plasma Charge Shot, which is larger and leaves a plasma ball when it hits enemies, dealing further damage. X can also charge Special Weapons.

Jungle Grants X the Air Dash and the Hover, letting him briefly hover midair and move slightly left or right.

Mega Man X5

The Fourth Armor returned in Mega Man X5, having been restored by Alia - she was the one who named it the "Fourth Armor" in the process.[4] However, it lacks some of its original effects, and is locked into using the Plasma Charge Shot for its Arm Parts (with the white and blue colors of the Stock Charge Shot). It is only accessible if the player chooses to play as X at the start of the game; if they choose Zero instead, the Fourth Armor will be damaged by Sigma and be unusable for the rest of the game.[3]
