In the Games
Mega Man X7
Flame Hyenard debuts in Mega Man X7 as one of the eight Mavericks on the Stage Select screen. He is a tortured and manic soul who takes over a factory, serving as the boss of the Lava Factory stage. He stands atop a giant gazelle Mechaniloid while his clones pester his foes with fireballs. Defeating Flame Hyenard grants Circle Blaze to Axl and X, and Bakuenjin to Zero. His weakness is the Splash Laser or Suiretsusen from Splash Warfly, which instantly destroys his clones. A boss attack rematch with Flame Hyenard later occurs in the Crimson Palace.

Behind the Scenes
- "A hyena dressed in armor inspired by bones and flames. He's wearing a small burner or stovetop. At first, he had a cool lion-like face, but the hyena's face is actually ugly, so now he has his current face. His dark eyes are alluring." - (Concept Art Room)[3]
