Blizzard Buffalo, known as Frozen Buffalio (フローズン・バッファリオ) in Japan, is a Maverick from the X era, appearing as one of the main bosses in Mega Man X3. He is an ice-themed Reploid based on a buffalo, who freezes his foes and smashes them with his horns. He was previously a ski resort maintenance officer before getting infected with the Sigma Virus in Dopple Town.

Blizzard Buffalo debuts in Mega Man X3 as one of the eight Mavericks on the Stage Select screen. He is a ski resort maintenance worker who was infected by the Sigma Virus in Dopple Town, and serves as the boss of Frozen Town Stage. His attacks are slow and his attack pattern is easy to manipulate, but he deals large damage if underestimated. Defeating Blizzard Buffalo grants X the Frost Shield. His weakness is the Parasitic Bomb, from Blast Hornet, which briefly stuns him. A boss attack rematch with Blizzard Buffalo later occurs in Doppler Stage C.

• In Mega Man X4, Blizzard Buffalo can be seen encased in ice in Frost Walrus's Snow Base stage, though he cannot be interacted with and is merely an easter egg.
• In Rockman X3 Buster Battle, Blast Hornet can be fought an opponent.
• In Rockman ✕over, Blizzard Buffalo appears in a Battle Memory.
• In TEPPEN, Blizzard Buffalo appears as a Unit Card.

Blizzard Buffalo

A Reploid created for ski slope security. He was designed from the ground up to to operate in extreme cold, so he is exceptionally well-suited to snowy regions. Contrary to his fearsome appearance, Buffalo was always a gentle sort whose hobby was ice sculpture. Now, however, he charges his enemies in a blind fury, smashing foes too slow to dodge, but apparently he also has some other weapons up his sleeve. Loves the cold, but can't handle hot things.
