An Energy Up (エネルギーアップ) or Weapon Up (ウェポンアップ) is a recurring item in the X era. When collected, it permanently increases the player's maximum Weapon Energy. A similar item called a BM Upgrade (or Livemetal Up (ライブメタルアップ) in Japan) also appeared in Mega Man ZX Advent.

Mega Man X5
The Energy Up first appeared in Mega Man X5. Before this game, the player started with maximum Weapon Energy. Starting in Mega Man X5, the player can choose to gain a Life Up or an Energy Up after defeating a boss. This is the only way to obtain them, as they do not appear as collectible items in the stages.
